šÆļø The Power of Journaling: Writing Your Way to Mental Clarity
Journaling has been my anchor for emotional healing and self-discovery. Science supports what so many of us feel instinctively: writing things down changes your brain.
Research from the University of Rochester shows that journaling can:
- Lower anxiety by giving your thoughts structure.
- Improve problem-solving and creativity.
- Increase gratitude and resilience.
For ambitious women, journaling isnāt just emotional therapyāitās a business strategy, a stress management tool, and a safe place to dream.
Journaling Prompts for Healing and Growth:
- āWhat do I need today?ā (centers your emotions)
- āWhat am I proud of right now?ā (builds confidence)
- āWhere do I feel stuck?ā (gives direction)
- āWhat would I do if I felt completely supported?ā (sparks vision)
Pro tip: Pair journaling with candlelight or a calming tea. This signals your nervous system that itās safe to slow down.
š± The Supplements That Changed My Health and Energy
My healing wasnāt just emotionalāit was physical. Years of stress and irregular eating habits left me tired, foggy, and disconnected from my body. I began experimenting with holistic supplements, and these simple additions made a profound difference:
š¹ Magnesium for Stress and Sleep
Magnesium is often called natureās chill pill. It helps regulate cortisol, supports nervous system health, and improves deep sleep. Many women are magnesium deficient, which can lead to anxiety, headaches, and fatigue.
- Best forms: Magnesium glycinate or citrate
- When to take: Evening, to help your body relax
- Benefits: Stress relief, fewer muscle cramps, improved focus
š¹ Omega-3 Fatty Acids for Brain Health
Omega-3 oil (from fish or algae) supports heart health, reduces inflammation, and keeps your brain sharp. If youāre plant-based, algae supplements are an excellent alternative.
š¹ Sea Moss: The Mineral Powerhouse
Sea moss contains 92 of the 102 essential minerals our bodies need, making it a superfood for energy, thyroid health, and skin radiance.
š¹ Maca Powder for Hormonal Balance
Maca root is known to naturally regulate hormones, improve mood, and increase energy without caffeine crashes.
š¹ Multivitamins for Busy Women
Even with a great diet, busy women need extra support. A high-quality multivitamin can help fill nutritional gaps, especially during high-stress seasons.
š„ Plant-Based Living: (Gently)
Iāve gone vegetarian/plant based off and on for years, and Iāve learned that flexibility is key. Strict diets can create stress, but incorporating more plant-based meals has given me better digestion, glowing skin, and higher energy.
š Low Carb Living for Steading The Emotions.
And the above point brings me to this – eat low carb. This one can be a little tough when you go plant based. If you’ve noticed, a lot of plant based meals focus on using carbs to replace the protein, but there is away to eat plant based while lowering your carb intake. Ive found that if you avoid the spikes and crashes your blood sugar goes on from carb binging, you tend to feel steadier.
Try a pescatarian lifestyle where you eat mostly seafood and veggies, or if you eat meat limit it to a few times a week with mostly fresh greens and veggies as your diet. ( I think I may write a blog on this entire concept later)
Quick Plant Based Meal Ideas:
- š„ 1. Greek Salad Bowl with Feta & Olives
Ingredients: cucumber, tomato, bell pepper, olives, feta, olive oil, oregano.
Why itās great: Refreshing, filling, healthy fats + protein from feta and olives. You can add grilled wild caught salmon here if you wish.
š„¦ 2. Stir-Fried Veggies with Tofu
Ingredients: broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms, tofu cubes, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic.
Quick tip: Buy pre-cut veggies and pan-fry in under 10 minutes.
š„¬ 3. Cauliflower Rice Buddha Bowl
Ingredients: cauliflower rice, avocado, roasted chickpeas, sautƩed greens.
Season with tahini or lemon for flavor.
š„ 4. Zucchini Noodles with Pesto

Fast, light, and high in nutrients.
š§ 5. Caprese Plate (Tomato, Mozzarella, Basil)
Add a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
Pair with a side of roasted veggies for more volume.
š„ 6. Veggie Omelet (Eggs or Egg Whites)
Fill with spinach, mushrooms, onions, and cheese.
Great for lunch or dinner if you need high protein, low carb.
š¶ļø 7. Spicy Lentil Lettuce Wraps
Cook lentils quickly (or use canned), season with taco spices, and wrap in large romaine or iceberg leaves.
Plant based living doesnāt have to be complicated. Even one plant-based meal a day can lower inflammation and improve long-term health.
ššæš Lavender and chamomile Tea/Bath/Spray
So, I’m a little passionate about all things lavender right now, I’ll soak in lavender bath salts, I’ll mist my pillow with lavender spray, lol. But it’s because it’s really amazing for relaxation. Out of all the wellness tools you can find lavender in, I find the tea to be especially good for calming nerves and making you feel centred and restful after a long day. It’s perfect right before bed. As a sleep aid Lavender tea is amazing but combining it with Chamomile is LETHAL.
Do enjoy and sleep well!!
šø Stress Relief Rituals: How to Calm Your Nervous System
For years, I thought āself-careā meant spa days or vacations. Now I know that real healing is in the small, consistent moments that train your body to relax.
My Favorite Daily Rituals:
- Morning Mindfulness: I light a coconut wax candle, journal for 5 minutes, and set my intentions for the day.
- Midday Movement: Stretch breaks and a short walk to reset my posture and mental energy.
- Evening Wind-Down: A magnesium bath, chamomile tea, and a book or prayer before bed.
- Digital Boundaries: Logging off social media an hour before bed to protect my sleep.
These rituals create a rhythm of safety for your nervous system, which is essential for creativity and emotional resilience.
š§š¾āāļø Building a Self-Care Routine That Actually Sticks
So many women say, āI donāt have time for self-care.ā But what if your wellness practices were so simple they didnāt feel like another task?
Hereās how I made my rituals sustainable:
- Start with 5-minute habits (a quick journal entry, a supplement routine, a moment of prayer).
- Stack rituals onto existing habits (take your vitamins with your morning coffee).
- Choose practices that bring immediate calm or energy so you stay motivated.
- Create a cozy environmentācandles, soft music, and calming scents signal your body to relax.
Self-care shouldnāt feel like pressure. It should feel like coming home.
š Spiritual and Emotional Healing
Faith, therapy, and journaling are the pillars of my emotional wellness. Whether youāre spiritual, religious, or just deeply introspective, inner healing work is the foundation for everything else.
Ways to strengthen emotional resilience:
- Daily prayer or meditation
- Gratitude journaling
- Therapy or coaching
- Connecting with a supportive community
- Practicing self-compassion (especially on off days)
What is the best self-care routine for busy women?
Start small with simple rituals: a morning journal entry, one supplement routine, and 10 minutes of movement. Focus on consistency, not perfection.
Does magnesium really help with stress?
Yes! Magnesium supports your nervous system, lowers cortisol, and improves sleep. Itās one of the easiest supplements to add to your daily routine.
Is sea moss safe to take daily?
In moderate doses, yes. Itās packed with minerals and can support thyroid health, but always check with your doctor if you have thyroid concerns.
How do I eat vegan without feeling restricted?
Start slowātry one vegan meal a day. Focus on hearty, nutrient-rich meals like lentils, quinoa bowls, and smoothies to feel satisfied.
How long does it take to feel results from supplements?
It varies, but many people notice better sleep and energy from magnesium and omega-3 within 2ā3 weeks.
šļø Bringing Wellness Into Your Home
Your environment can be a sanctuary. Soft lighting, candles, cozy textures, and calming scents remind your body to exhale.
- Coconut wax candles create clean, long-lasting fragrance. (Much like my candle business, Im working on. But more about that in another post! )
- Wellness journals make it easy to start or deepen your journaling practice.
- Herbal teas and bath rituals can become a sacred part of your evening routine.
š Closing Thoughts
Self-care isnāt a luxuryāitās a necessity for women building big lives. The pressure to always achieve and give can drain us, but creating a few simple wellness rituals can bring us back to center.
Whether youāre lighting a candle and journaling, adding magnesium to your nighttime routine, or transitioning into plant-based eating, these daily practices will help you thriveānot just survive.
Start small. Stay consistent. Build a life you donāt need to escape from. šø
